Entropies are a neo-classical musical project that documents human stories through live sound and moving image. Featuring vocals, keys, violin, cello, and percussion, they describe their music as an evocative blend of alternative, neo-classical, ambient pop & jazz.

Adapting songs they have composed for British-Turkish-Iranian lead vocalist and director Sheida Kiran’s films, Entropies combine these scores with new writing to create a musical style that unites raw storytelling with powerful orchestral arrangements.  Their poised and melancholic chamber pop style draws from artists such as Hania Rani, Max Richter, and Agnes Obel, and they blend classical influences with electronic sounds, as well as live field recordings.

Entropies' most recent project, ‘Songs For Our Land’, draws inspiration from Sheida's latest BBC Our World documentary ‘Turkey's Earthquake: Those Who Stayed’, and was performed in sold-out shows in London and Cambridge.

Supported by Help Musicians and the Bert Jansch Foundation, their debut EP ‘The Harvest’, released in 2025, tells the stories of female tea pickers on the Black Sea coast of Turkey, based on the BBC documentary 'Harvesting Turkey's Tea'. They have recently completed scoring Sheida's film coming out in late 2026 which was commissioned by the BFI.
